Tuesday 04. August 2009 A short holiday
By: KlimBimIt was friday afternoon...
It was Friday afternoon as Pascal and i decided to explore the area. We had ideas, no plans. With plans you ruin the chance of realising freedom. Unexpected things are on their way and they come naturally. So we left the city, direction north…
After a ride to a small village with a Transylvanian farmer, the next car stopped right away. We arrived Sigişoară, a beautiful small town, in which you feel and see the romantic style of long gone days. Unfortunately at that weekend was the medevil festival. On the one hand hand it was interesting to see, but on the other hand it only seemed like to be another “Octoberfest“.
In the end it turned out, that we did not spent the whole night in Sigişoară. We started to go on, direction Târgu Mureş in the very late evening, because we had heard about the festival “Peninsula“ and we wanted to visit it. On a soft hill between fields and trees, close to the place Acătari we decided to camp. In the beginning under the clear starry sky, but as we had to fight some of the many wild living dogs out there, we built up our tent to have a calm rest and good sleep.
The distance to the city was not long anymore, as we started to walk at the next morning. On that way we heard stories and opinions from the hungarian minority in Transylvania. Exactly as we left the car Govinda appeared, as he was walking right into our arms. Govinda is an australian guy who travels the world and Christian, Robert and i had met him last year in Sofia. (compare October 2008: “Extracts of the odysee through three cultures“)
It seems to be unbelievable sometimes, how our destiny brings us together again, at different times, in different places. On the festival area we were developed by Nina, an architecture student from Timişoara. We picked her up. We turned day into night at a calm spot in the middle of the festival. We heard the last concert next day and after we had drank our departure beer we headed up to Cluj, late at night.
We arrived there and we had to had a long sleep first, before we visited the city. After we found the probably best restaurant in the city the evening turned out to be a party again. Because we were picked up by a group of germans and they invited us to have fun with them…
Unfortunately we had to be back on Tuesday in Sibiu – but the next travel is already on the way!
